Tun Hussein Onn National Eye Hospital

The Tun Hussein Onn National Eye Hospital was established in 1986 by the late Yang Amat Berhormat (YAB) Tun Hussein Onn, the third Prime Minister of Malaysia and the Chairman of Malaysia Association for Blindness (MAB) (1975 -1990). Tun Hussein Onn realised the necessity of having a dedicated eye hospital to provide professional eye care to Malaysians, to educate them on prevention measures to avoid unnecessary blindness, and to manage disorders which may lead to loss of vision.

The Penang Adventist Hospital (PAH) is part of an International Adventist Network of some 600 not-for-profit hospitals, clinics and dispensaries worldwide. The hospital was established in 1924 by Dr J. Earl Gardner. From its humble beginnings, PAH has continuously grown to become a tertiary healthcare centre for the Malaysian community and International visitors.
Adventist Clinical Research Centre (ACRC) started officially in 2012 and is actively participating in clinical trials. Nilai Medical Centre (NMC) was first established in 1999 as Nilai Cancer Institute concentrating on clinical research. In 2009, the hospital renamed itself to NCI Hospital and 4 years later in 2013 to Nilai Medical Centre (NMC) in line to the expansion of hospital into multidisciplinary medical centre aiming to serve the community; not only with a special focus on cancer treatment but also medical care in other areas.
The oncology team actively participates and contributes to international clinical researches for oncology treatment. Through these researches, better treatment can be developed and patients benefit from these medical discoveries through what is known as Clinical Trials. Nilai Medical Centre is ISO 9001 accredited and is one of the few medical centres in Malaysia that is recognized internationally as a centre for conducting randomized clinical trials by various multinational pharmaceutical companies. Metro Specialist Hospital (MSH) located in Sungai Petani, Kedah, commenced operations with only two shop lots and four specialists on July 5, 1993. It was then known as Bersatu Medical Centre. Later, it was renamed as Metro Specialist Hospital and was officially opened by Dato’ Chua Jui Meng, then Minister of Health on January 18, 1996.
On October 19, 2002 MSH proudly opened the doors of its new premises at No 1 Lorong Metro, Sungai Petani which has a more spacious and conducive environment to provide for further expansion and development.

The Mahkota Clinical Research Centre (CRC) was set up to conduct quality and ethical clinical trials as part of our efforts to play a role in the advancement of medical treatment. This includes treatment trials for breast cancer, liver cancer and head & neck cancer as well as Lymphoma.
Clinical Trials are conducted by doctors who are Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certified. Together with our team of pharmacists, laboratory scientists and nurses, patients are carefully traced throughout the trials conducted.
