Hospital Sultan Idris Shah, Serdang

Sultan Idris Shah Hospital, Serdang, is located in Mukim Dengkil, Sepang District, Selangor Darul Ehsan. It is bordered by the South Kajang Valley Expressway (SKVE) to the east and the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), to the west.

The hospital was built to provide medical services to approximately 570,000 residents in the areas of Serdang, Putrajaya, Kajang, and Bangi. As a government hospital, Sultan Idris Shah Hospital operates with an integrated information technology environment, utilizing the Total Hospital Information System (THIS).

It serves as a referral hospital with 1,063 beds, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, and offers both Specialist Secondary Unit and Tertiary Levels of Care. In addition to providing medical treatment for inpatients and outpatients, the hospital also functions as a teaching hospital for medical students from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

Hospital Queen Elizabeth II

Clinical Research Centre, Hospital Queen Elizabeth II (CRC HQEII) also known as CRC Sabah Heart Centre, was established as part of the Network of Clinical Research Centres of the Ministry of Health (MOH) in 2011. It has been operational since December 2011, headed by Dr Liew Houng Bang with the aim to promote, support and conduct quality and ethical clinical research to improve patients’ outcome in HQEII.

CRC HQEII undertakes clinical research, and provides research-related administrative services and training courses including research methodology, medical biostatistics and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) workshops.

Hospital Pulau Pinang

The Clinical Research Centre (CRC) Hospital Pulau Pinang was established in 2001 and has been operational since 2003 with the aim to promote, support and conduct clinical research. The establishment of the CRC in Penang as part of the network of CRCs, is in line with the Ministry of Health emphasis on clinical research as a means to resolve a variety of health-related problems.

In its effort to build a pool of experts in clinical reasearch, the CRC in Hospital Pulau Pinang also provides guidance and resources in preparation of study protocols, documentations, and training in conduct, presentation, publication, and ethical clinical research. Working in collaboration with CRC in Kuala Lumpur Hospital, CRC in Penang undertake research, and provide research-related services, CME (continuing medical education) and training courses including research methodology, biostatics and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) workshops.
