Highlights from CRM Trial Connect 2026

CRM Trial Connect 2026 brought together more than 1,200 participants through its conference and pre-conference programmes, reinforcing its role as a growing platform for collaboration, innovation and meaningful exchange within the clinical research ecosystem.

Featuring 25 sessions and tracks, this year’s conference explored a broad range of topics including First-in-Human trial submissions, oncology research, affordable diagnostics and therapeutics, Good Clinical Practice, regulatory readiness and patient-centric engagement.

Officiated by Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, the event convened researchers, clinicians, regulators, industry leaders and patient advocates under one roof to discuss how clinical research can continue evolving to become safer, more inclusive and future-ready.

Participants also took part in specialised workshops led by NPRA, PMDA-ATC, CRM, ATLAS and IA-DATA, which provided practical perspectives on trial preparedness, research quality, regulatory expectations and innovation in clinical development.

Across the conference, discussions reflected the growing momentum of Asia-Pacific and ASEAN in shaping the future of global clinical trials, particularly in areas such as precision oncology, accessible healthcare innovation and regional collaboration.

The conference also commemorated Clinical Trials Day while recognising excellence and leadership within the research community through the CRM Sponsored Research Awards 2026, which celebrated outstanding contributions across Malaysia’s clinical research ecosystem. Prof Dato’ Dr Adeeba Kamarulzaman was also honoured with the CRM Leadership Award in recognition of her lasting contributions to public health, infectious disease research and clinical research leadership both locally and internationally.

Several strategic collaborations were also marked through exchanges with Monash Health, ATLAS and ADVANCE-ID, reflecting CRM’s continued efforts to strengthen partnerships and expand international research networks.

CRM Trial Connect 2026 concluded with closing remarks by Director-General of Health Datuk Dr Mahathar Abd Wahab, ending the conference on a hopeful note as participants departed with renewed commitment towards advancing clinical research.
