Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital was built in 2002 with a capacity of 498 beds. It officially started operations on January 4, 2007, and was inaugurated by Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah on November 22, 2007.
The hospital is located in Bandar Amanjaya, about 10 km from Sungai Petani town center. Due to the area’s growth and increasing population, the number of official hospital beds has expanded to 696.
With ongoing development and expansion, the hospital now also offers subspecialty services, including:
- Respiratory Medicine (lung and breathing disorders)
Nephrology (kidney diseases and dialysis)
Infectious Diseases (treatment for serious infections)
Rheumatology (joint and autoimmune diseases)
Arthroplasty (joint replacement surgery)
